Professionals & Non-Immigrant Visas

Professionals & Non-Immigrant Visas

North Carolina Professionals & Non-Immigrant Visas Attorney

Many people come to the United States on visas for employment or other temporary visas. Different people are eligible for different visas depending on their background and purpose of coming to the U.S. It is important that you follow the proper visa application program in order to ensure you receive the proper permission to live and work in the country.

Vestal Immigration Law assists professionals and non-immigrants with obtaining the visas they need. If you need help with any type of visa, contact our office as soon as possible.

Visa Applications for Professionals

Each fiscal year, a certain number of visas based on employment become available for foreign nationals who wish to work in the U.S. There are four categories in order of preference:

  1. People with extraordinary abilities, managers and executives, and researchers
  2. People with exceptional ability or advanced degrees
  3. People with bachelor’s degrees (at least) in their fields or those with two or more years of experience in the field
  4. Religious workers and other special immigrants

Employment-Based Visas

We can assist most preference category applicants with the visa process, as well as help employers obtain proper certification from the Department of Labor when needed. There is also a high demand for such employment-based visas, so it is critical for anyone interested to speak with an immigration attorney as far in advance as possible to start preparing their applications.

Our immigration attorney also handles certain types of non-immigrant and employment visa applications, including:

First Preference EB-1

This visa is available for people who want to work in the United States and who have extraordinary abilities, are recognized as outstanding researchers and professors, and who are multinational executives or managers. We can advise whether you are eligible and can handle the application process.

Once you have a visa, you are still not guaranteed entry. At the Port of Entry, a CBP officer will inspect you, your paperwork, and the officer will determine whether or not you can enter the United States. They will review your documentation and verify your information. We can prepare you for what to expect when you arrive at the port of entry if you have a non-immigrant visa.
